STACEY LYNN LIFESTYLES AND BODYWORK

MORE THAN MASSAGE

Most people come to me because something hurts.

Their neck won’t let go. Their shoulder is always tight. Their back keeps flaring up. They’ve stretched it, strengthened it, massaged it, rested it, and still it keeps coming back.

They want the pain to stop.

WHAT IF THE PAIN IS ALSO INFORMATION?

If a friend sent you here for massage or bodywork, you’re in the right place.

YOUR BODY IS TALKING TO YOUTHROUGH SENSATION

Pain gets your attention, but it isn’t the whole story.

Maybe you wake up feeling fine and by 4pm your neck is screaming. Maybe the same ache shows up every time the week gets busy. Maybe everything feels manageable while you’re moving and starts talking the second you finally stop.

We don’t have to decide what any of it means. We can start by noticing what changes.

What makes it louder? What softens it? When does it show up? What else is happening at the same time?

Most of us were taught to get rid of discomfort. Very few of us were taught to listen to it.

THE BODY LEARNS THROUGH EXPERIENCE

You can understand exactly why you respond the way you do and still feel your body doing it before you’ve had a chance to choose differently.

Your body learned through experience. Understanding the pattern matters, but it doesn’t automatically give you a new response.

When we slow things down enough to notice what you actually feel, responses that usually happen automatically can become visible while they’re happening.

THE SHOULDERtightens before you push through.

THE BREATHstops when you’re uncertain.

THE JAWbraces when you’re holding something back.

YOUR PAIN DOESN’T HAPPEN IN ISOLATION

When you can recognize what your body is doing while you’re in it, an automatic response doesn’t have to be the only response available.

BODYWORK IS A PLACE TO LISTEN

Come because something hurts. We’ll start there.

Bodywork is where we slow things down enough for you to stay with sensation, breath, movement, and bracing instead of immediately trying to change what you’re feeling. This is often where something different becomes possible.

This isn’t about deciding what your body needs to let go of. It’s about learning how to listen to what it is already showing you.

THE WORK DOESN’TSTOP AT THE TABLE

Bodywork is where you learn to stay with your experience.

But your experience doesn’t only happen on the table. It shows up when you’re moving. Relating. Setting a boundary. Being seen. Trying something unfamiliar. Responding before you have time to prepare.

On the table, you notice how you respond to touch and sensation. Those same patterns can become visible when you move, make a choice, relate to someone, or step into something unfamiliar. Each offering gives you a different place to practise paying attention while life is happening.

SO THE WORK MOVES WITH YOU.

THERE’S MORE THAN ONE WAY TO MEET YOURSELF

You can begin with the experience that interests you. Bodywork is one doorway; you don’t need to start on the table to explore the work.

ONE-ON-ONE COACHING

You might recognize a pattern clearly and still find yourself repeating it. In coaching, we bring attention to what happens as you make a choice, set a boundary, ask for something, or respond to another person.

We work with the situations you are actually living. What do you notice in your body? Where does your response become automatic? What can you try while staying connected to your own experience?

This is another way to practise the awareness that runs through my work: noticing what is happening while it is happening, and exploring what becomes available from there.

Book an individual coaching session when you want space to explore a particular situation. Empowerment Through Presence offers a coaching package for ongoing exploration and integration.

DANCE AS MEDICINE

What happens when movement begins with what you feel? Dance as Medicine offers a place to follow sensation, explore expression and notice the ways you give yourself permission to move.

You don’t need choreography or dance experience. The invitation is to get curious about the movement available to you: small or expansive, familiar or unexpected.

On the table, we might notice where your body braces or holds. In movement, you can explore those responses from the inside, following what changes as you move in your own way.

BEGINNER IMPROV

Improv gives you a place to respond before you have everything worked out. Through shared games and scenes, you practise listening, making an offer and letting another person’s response shape what happens next.

It brings familiar patterns into the moment: preparing, holding back, trying to get it right, or deciding what should happen. Play gives you room to notice those habits and explore a different response.

My interest in improv lives alongside my interest in embodiment. You are participating with your whole self—attention, body, voice and the willingness to be seen while something is unfolding.

Beginners Improv classes with me are coming to Squamish, BC in January 2027. Dates and registration details will appear on Upcoming Events.

WORKSHOPS

A workshop gives us a shared theme and room to explore it through experience. Touch, movement, sensation, expression or relationship can each offer a different place to notice how you respond.

The format changes with the theme. You might work through guided practices, reflection or shared exploration, with time to notice what shifts and what you want to bring into daily life.

I’ll be offering a daily Embodied Expression workshop at Big Kids Improv Camp, April 1–4, 2027. This is one way the work moves into a setting where play, attention and expression meet.

EMOTIONAL BOUNDARIES

Self-guided experiences give you room to explore at your own pace and return to a practice as it becomes relevant in your life. Emotional Boundaries is a growing body of work about what happens when another person’s experience starts to pull you away from your own. It explores emotional responsibility, capacity, boundaries, receiving support, and staying connected to yourself in relationship.
